Rather than applying the methodology (created by Robert Haig in 1928) we compare local area industry sectors in relation to the district or borough level. This way it is possible to predict how industrial sector trends will impact a specific market. The importance of this form of analysis to understand the direct impact of growth or decline on a specific industrial sector, but also the indirect impact to support industries in a local market.
