JOBS EARNING BELOW LIVING WAGE
Here we look at the number and proportion of jobs that are earning below living wage level for each local authority in the UK. This simple analysis looks at the proportion of jobs below a certain income level for each local authority. This calculation is then used to form a ranking score of between 1 and 0. A higher score indicates a higher rate of jobs that are low pay (as an average). We know that there is a correlation between earnings and obesity, and therefore health. Geographical performance can be compared and contrasted between local authority areas.
Data is sourced from ONS and NOMIS and is set at the most recent 2017 data sets.
